Yamaha Fazer 25 & Yamaha FZ25 recalled
India Yamaha Motor has issued a voluntary recall of two motorcycles- the Yamaha FZ25 and the Yamaha Fazer 25 over possible loosening of the head cover bolt.

Yamaha says that this bolt must be tightened to a specified torque after applying recommended loctite (sealant) at the earliest. No accident or safety-related issues have been reported to Yamaha so far. Yamaha has initiated the campaign to repair the affected motorcycles through bolt re-tightening after application of loctite. There is no repairing cost involved for this repair activity and it can be completed within few minutes.

However, as a precautionary measure, Yamaha advises not operating the motorcycle before the repair is carried out. One can go to the manufacturer’s official website and enter the chassis number to check whether the bike is one of the affected. The chassis number is stamped into the steering head pipe. The engine serial number is stamped into the crankcase.

The Yamaha Fazer 25 and the Yamaha FZ25 share the same single cylinder 249cc mill with air and oil cooling. The SOHC engine makes 20.9 PS of power at 8,000 rpm, and 20 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The powerplant works in tandem with a 5-speed gearbox. Cycle parts include telescopic front fork, and a rear monoshock. For braking, the bikes employ 282 mm front and 220 mm rear disc.
