The 12th generation pickup, available in extended cab and double cab variations, comes with Nissan’s latest V-Motion design language with ample application of chrome on the exterior. The new Navara is given LED daytime running lights, turn indicators on the side mirrors and two new body color options – Savannah Yellow and Earth Bronze.
The interior is upmarket for a pickup, sporting a new dashboard with silver and chrome highlights. The instrument console has a TFT display for compass, turn-to-turn navigational support and a fuel economy indicator. The central console is embedded with a touchscreen multimedia infotainment system.
The new Nissan Navara retains the outgoing model’s engine, but not without tweaks. The 2.5-litre diesel engine is available in two tuning states – 163 PS with 403 Nm of torque, and 190 PS with 450 Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency is claimed to have jumped by 11%. The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic transmission. The pickup is also loaded with a shift-on-the-fly 4×4 system.
Besides the run of the mill ABS, EBD and Airbags, the 2015 Navara’s equipment include Vehicle Dynamic Control, Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist.
