Features an aggressive, bold styling.

Courtesy of Headlight Mag reader, Mr Gul, several shots of the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport have surfaced online post unveil, which is parked beside the outgoing model, giving a better look at the exterior changes between the two models.

For starters, the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport distances away from its pick-up derivative, the Mitsubishi Triton, by featuring a distinctive design that is more aggressive and bolder than the outgoing Pajero Sport. Up front, it features Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield fascia with generous helping of chrome in the front fascia, sleek headlamps and LED daytime running lights, and a new bumper design.

Coming to the back, it gets a striking pair of vertically-oriented taillight clusters (similar to the GR-HEV concept) and a re-designed lift gate. The side profile sports dynamic character lines and a new D-pillar design.

The interior design and build quality of the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is a step up from the outgoing model. It comes with a touchscreen infotainment display, optional “Multi-Around” camera system, and electric parking brake (first time in a Mitsubishi). Safety features include  Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM), Blind Spot Warning system (also a first on a Mitsubishi model) and an Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS) and seven SRS airbags.

Under the hood, the 2016 Mitsubishi Sport packs a 2.4L MIVEC turbo diesel engine paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Reports suggest that it will deliver 181 PS and 430 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a Super-Select 4WD-II four-wheel drive system with a new Off-road Mode and Hill Descent Control. The company claims that the new Pajero Sport is 17-percent more fuel efficient than the outgoing model.
