7-seat MPV will be available in gasoline and hybrid variants. Ahead of its expected launch on July 9, several brochure images of the next generation Toyota Sienta MPV have surfaced, revealing new information. This follows a leak of the final production-spec design of the MPV last month.

The new Sienta features a design inspired by the Toyota Aqua hatchback, which is step up from the previous model. It reportedly measures 4,235 mm long, 1,695 mm wide and 1,470 mm tall, with a 50 mm improvement in wheelbase.

At the side, the Sienta comes equipped with sliding doors on both sides for easy entry and exit, while the rear gets a striking set of horizontal taillamps with a similar black design element from the front.

Inside, the Sienta keeps it simple and ergonomic. The dashboard follows a two-tier design with the instrument panel on the upper portion, while the lower portion houses the gear shifter and infotainment controls, above which a display is mounted.

It will certainly feature a couple of seats in the third row, which is claimed to be spacious. Top-spec Sientas will be offered as a six-seater with the middle row getting two individual seats, while lower variants will feature a bench seat in the middle row, essentially making it a 7-seater.

Powering the 2016 Toyota Sienta is a choice between gasoline or hybrid propulsion. The former packs a a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with electric VVT paired to a CVT gearbox. It produces 109 hp at 6,000 rpm and 136 Nm at 4,400 rpm, while the average fuel consumption is pegged at 20.6 km/l, thanks to an on-board Start/Stop system.

The hybrid variant combines the same but detuned 75 hp 1.5-liter engine with a 61 hp electric motor. The total output of the hybrid system is given as 100 hp, and is also equipped with a CVT gearbox. Fuel consumption is rated at 27.2 km/l (Japanese test standard).
