Peugeot has confirmed that deliveries of the new 5008 will commence around March 2017 in UK.
The model seems to be of a lower spec as it features regular 5-spoke alloy rims and lacks much chrome garnish, while the model photographed at the Paris Motor Show featured a dual-tone exterior, chrome window line and diamond cut alloy wheels with contrasting black spokes. The design borrows cues from the new Peugeot 3008, both dropping the MPV-esque design of their respective previous generations for a rugged, SUV styling direction, which is in vogue with European customers.
Although the interior is not photographed in this instance, the 5008 will feature Peugeot's revolutionary 'i-Cockpit' interior. It gets a 12.3-inch high-resolution driver screen that can display sat-nav, music info or conventional instrument dials, body-hugging front seats with optional multipoint massage system, FOCAL Premium Hi-Fi system, large panoramic opening glass roof, freestanding 8.0-inch touchscreen display and 'piano-key' switches for interior functions.
The Peugeot 5008 is based on the company's new Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2), which it shares with the smaller Peugeot 3008. Engine lineup includes 1.2L PureTech petrol, 1.6L PureTech petrol, 1.6L BlueHDi diesel and 2.0L BlueHDi diesel, while transmission options offered are a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
