With the MY2018 update, the Maruti Swift will enter its third generation and adopt the Heartect platform. Featuring an evolutionary design, the 2018 Maruti Swift is shorter, wider and lower than its predecessor. It should measure around 3,840 mm length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height, and have a 2,450 mm wheelbase.
The 2018 Maruti Swift will carry over its predecessors' 1.2-litre VVT petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel engines. The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 84.3 PS at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The turbocharged diesel engine develops 75 PS at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. While current Swift customers have no alternative for the 5-speed manual transmission, the next-gen Swift customers will have an option in the 5-speed AGS automated manual transmission.
On the outside, the 2018 Maruti Swift should feature LED projector headlamps with signature daytime running lamps, 15-inch five-double-spoke alloy wheels, LED tail lamps and rear spoiler with integrated LED stop lamp. Inside, Maruti Suzuki should offer features like engine push start-stop button, automatic climate control, 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and flat-bottom leather-wrapped steering wheel. The company will likely offer ABS with EBD and BA, ISOFIX child-seat anchorages and dual-front airbags as standard.
The 2018 Maruti Swift's market launch will take place along with its debut in February. Its deliveries are expected to commence later the same month.
