Twitter handle ‘hunfooli’ has shared images of the 2018 Suzuki Jimny without camouflage.

The images appear to have been taken at a factory floor suggesting the trial production of the fourth-gen Jimny is already underway.

The exterior of the production-spec 2018 Suzuki Jimny closely resemble the renderings we shared based on leaked images. Suzuki has taken a leaf out of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class' book when it comes to the design of the next gen Jimny. Its exterior is characterised by squared-off proportions, circular headlamps and a bumper mounted tail lamp setup. The five-slat grille is quite similar to the current Jimny's grille. It will get a tailgate-mounted spare wheel as well.

This could be the base spec trim of the 2018 Suzuki Jimny judging by the presence of black ORVMs, bumper, and door handles. The Jimny retains the three-door body style, however, larger 5-door variants are expected as well.

The neo-retro approach to the new Jimny means that despite the utilitarian look and appeal, Suzuki will offer the top-spec versions with a healthy list of features including a touchscreen AVN and automatic climate control to name a few.

The 2018 Suzuki Jimny may employ the company's 1.0 L Boosterjet and 1.2 L Dualjet petrol engines with manual and automatic transmission options. It will feature the AllGrip all-wheel-drive system.

The SUV isn't expected to go on sale until April 2018. According to a report from August, it will be launched in the UK only in 2019. While there has been no indication for MSIL regarding the Jimny launch in India, past report claim that it may be manufactured in India and sold there as a replacement for the aging Maruti Gypsy.
