4 Other 'Speed Cameras' Operating from this Saturday
Motorists are warned. From this Saturday, four other 'Speed Cameras' will be operational. These cameras are installed at the à la route Swami-Sivananda, Curepipe, à la route Swami-Sivananda, Sadally, à St-Paul, tout juste après le parcours de golf, et près des locaux de la firme Alexander Gibbs sur le tronçon Phoenix-Beau Songes.

The reopening of the cameras follows the other four are in service since Monday Roche Bois, Cassis, Trianon and Pellegrin. Thus, eight of the twenty newly installed cameras will be in operation on Saturday.

Other cameras will enter service later. The authorities have decided to proceed step by step. Thus, within two months, all 20 cameras will be operational. The engineers of the Traffic Management and Road Safety Unit are now checking all the cameras before they are called into operation.

The 'Speed Cameras' were shutdown following the complaints of drivers who had been caught out when they meet the speed limits. The devices have since been recalibrated.

In addition, six mobile cameras are already in service since Monday. The six aircraft will be placed almost everywhere across the country, but especially in places called 'Black Spots' or areas where the risk of accidents is higher.
