BMW Just Threw Japanese 3 Series Fans a Huge Bone
Happy birthday (again), 3 Series! In case you haven’t noticed, BMW is pretty damn pumped about the 40th birthday of its flagship 3 Series.

The automaker is celebrating in a big way, such as releasing limited edition models like this 3 Series, exclusive to Japan. The 340i 40th Anniversary Edition will have a limited run of just 20 units and comes pretty damn decked out. The sedan packs the same engine as the 340i M Sport, a 3.0-liter inline-six with a twin-scroll turbo good for 322 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.

The 340i 40th Anniversary Edition has BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue paint and sits on 19-inch lightweight M alloy wheels. It features an adaptive suspension system (there’s lowering!) as well. BMW didn’t release photos of the interior but know that it has Dakota black leather and all the other high-tech and luxury goodies found in the normal range-topping 340i. Again, only 20 of these will be made and they’re all destined for Japan. Pricing has not been announced but if you have to ask then you can’t afford it.
