From the get-go, Chevrolet designed its all-new C7 Corvette Stingray to be a global car. It was time to show the world once and for all, especially Europe, that America is fully capable of building a proper supercar. And now a couple of Chevy technical experts are taking the new Vette to the Old World for some thorough testing. Residents of Germany, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands will soon be seeing a pair of Stingrays pass through as some final tuning is done before it officially goes on sale in Europe.
The question, however, is whether GM can successfully sell a car that in the past was seen as unrefined and not exactly luxurious – two elements wealthy Euro buyers often want in a high-performance sports car, like Ferraris and Porsches. But we’ll bet that this time they're going to give the Stingray a warm welcome.
