Drop Top Showdown: Audi R8 Spyder vs. Porsche 911 Cabrio
Two very expensive, German-built convertibles go head-to-head in a showdown that takes them through some twisty mountain roads.
Funnily enough, both Audi and Porsche are part of the Volkswagen Group, and yet each brand builds a very different type of high-performance convertible. The Audi R8 Spyder and the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabrio are two of the finest convertibles money can buy today, and each is special in its own right. The 911 tested here is equipped with a seven-speed manual while its R8 competitor has a dual-clutch gearbox. Does that make a difference while traveling through the gorgeous American Southwest?
