GLM G4 electric supercar makes its way from Japan to Paris
At the 2016 Paris Motor Show is a very interesting electric vehicle from GLM, an automaker out of Kyoto, Japan.

A couple years back, GLM teamed up with racecar maker Tommykaira to make a Tesla Roadster-fighting Tommykaira ZZ EV (you can see it in action here). Now GLM is back with the G4 concept, an exotic, electric supercar with room for four.

The first thing you'll notice about the GLM G4, at least parked on display at the show, isn't its electric powertrain or its lightweight composite materials, but its four doors that splay open dramatically to allow access to both rows of seating. The car's low-slung profile indicates the car's sporting intentions. Inside, we see grey-on-white quilted leather bucket seats and a large, flat-bottomed steering wheel. It looks every bit as luxurious as it seems exciting to drive. Have a closer look in the video below.

Powering the GLM G4 is a twin-motor electric powertrain providing a total of 400 kW (536 horsepower) and 737 pound-feet of torque. It will fling the lucky driver and three of his or her friends from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph. A torque-splitting system responds to various drive modes and road conditions to provide maximum traction from all four wheels. A multi-stage transmission helps reduce current at various cruising speeds, helping the G4 achieve a driving range of 248 miles (400 km) (on the generous NEDC cycle).

MotorTrend offers a few more details about the G4, including the fact that it was designed in Holland by Savage Rivale, originally intended to feature an American-made V-8 under the hood. GLM adapted the car to run on electricity, and intends to produce it soon for sale in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and possibly, eventually, in the US. It's expected to fetch around $224,000.
