Going Behind the Scenes with GM on the Transformers Set
Transformers: Age of Extinction is just hit US theaters, and if you need a dose of action and car chases after a long workday, it's probably the one to see.

The studio and filmmakers aren't the only ones hoping for the fourth film in the series to be a big hit. General Motors clearly sees a cross-marketing opportunity because it's pumping a ton of promotion into this year's sequel to the action/sci-fi/toy franchise.

Transformers and GM have had a close relationship since the very first movie in the Michael Bay series. It basically gave the world an early preview of the design of the then-future Camaro. However, this time the automaker appears to be throwing its support behind the film even further. In addition to giving the production cars to use, scenes were shot at the GM Technical Center in Michigan, in its wind tunnel and at its museum. GM Vice President of Global Design Ed Welburn even has a speaking role with star Mark Wahlberg in the latest installment.

If you're not a fan of The General's vehicles, then don't worry. Previous production photos and trailers show off a Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Huayra and Lamborghini Aventador in the movie. Scroll down to watch a brief video showing some behind-the-scenes shots into the latest Transformers production and get an idea of how deep the cross-promotion goes.
