Goodyear Has Built a Tire That Will Recharge Your Car On the Move
Not a perpetual motion machine, forget that idea right now. It's a known fact that a lot of energy is lost while you are driving around in your car.

Things like regenerative brakes that turn the heat generated while braking into electricity in hybrids and EVs have done a bit to recoup this loss. But Goodyear now wants to take the idea a step further, with tires that turn the heat generated while rolling or even just sitting in the sun into electricity. It's still just a concept, and it sounds very expensive, but it's certainly an interesting idea.

The laws of physics tell us that these tires could never recoup all of the energy expended no matter how good they are, but they could potentially greatly increase the range of electric vehicles.
