If your life has felt incomplete without Clarkson, Hammond and May in it, then this announcement should give you a nice, warm glow.

The Grand Tour has a release date, with the British trio set to return to our screens on November 18. Put it in your diary. Shout it from the treetops. Get a tattoo. Or just wait for the numerous reminders we are bound to receive over the coming nine weeks. The first of which is this polished trailer, which sets the scene for what to expect of the show, which will air every Friday for 12 weeks on Amazon Prime Video, with the tagline "What could possibly go wrong?"

The holy trinity of the LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 will probably appear on the first episode, given this particular comparison test has now been seen in various forms over the past 12 months. in fact Chris Harris tested the cars the same time these guys did.

The Aston Martin Vulcan, helicopters and hardcore dune buggies are also things we can look forward to. But there's a small catch. And by catch, we mean amount of money to pay if you want to watch 'The Grand Tour.' Bear in mind that each of the 12 episodes cost a whopping $6 million to make, a budget four times that of the BBC, as part of a $250 million total allowance. Amazon needs to recoup that colossal outlay, so viewers will have to cough up 5.99 GBP a month for the privilege of watching The GT in high-def 4K. The first episode will air from California and take place in a travelling tent in front of a live audience. Matt Damon and Charlize Theron are among the heavy-hitting celebrities that will appear as guests on the show.
