The naked street bike seems to be the Korean’s answer to the KTM Duke 200, and judging by initial media reports, Hyosung would price the GD250 below the Duke 125!
When it goes on sale in Europe in January next year, the GD250 is expected with a starting price of 2,999 euros, while a Duke 125 costs 4,245 euros .
The GD250 is powered by a newly-developed, single-cylinder 249cc engine with an electronic fuel injection system. The power and torque outputs are estimated at 28 hp at 9,500 rpm and 24 Nm at 7,000 rpm and a 6-speed gearbox is paired to this engine. According to initial reports, this new motor is unlike previous Hyosung small capacity engines which were rather bulky and heavy.
Stopping power comes from a 300 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc. Hyosung’s engineers have also lowered the center of gravity of this motorcycle and its aerodynamic drag coefficient to the lowest level achieved by Hyosung for this class of bike. While the front sees 37 mm Kayaba forks, the rear gets an aluminium swingarm with adjustable springs. Overall weight of the GD250 is estimated at 145 kg wet.
