India-made RHD Jeep Compass rolls out of Ranjangaon facility
FCA India has commenced production of the India-made, right-hand drive 2017 Jeep Compass at the Tata-FCA JV facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. The SUV was unveiled in India for the first time in April 2017, and besides selling locally, will be exported to the UK, Japan, Australia, South Africa and all other global RHD markets.

The Jeep Compass buyers in India will get an option to choose between a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol mill producing 160+ hp of power and 250 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine developing 170 hp+ of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Jeep Active Drive four-wheel drive system will be offered only with the diesel powerplant.

The Indian-spec 2017 Jeep Compass will sell in three grades: Sport, Longitude and Limited. All-new Jeep Compass customers will have over 50 trim configurations and value packages to choose from. Projector headlamps with DRLs, cornering fog lamps, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric parking brake, cap-less fuel filler and 17-inch alloy wheels. Safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Rollover Mitigation and Traction Control are some of the compact SUV’s key features known as of now.

The 2017 Jeep Compass will go on sale in India in the Q3 2017 (July-September 2017) and its exports will commence in Q4 2017 (October-December 2017).
