La construction de la Station de métro à Palmerston débute
Un nouveau schéma de la circulation a été mis en place avec la fermeture de l’avenue Swami Sivananda. Cela en vue de la construction de la station de métro à Palmerston.
Ainsi les véhicules venant de Floréal, La Caverne et St Paul en direction de Port-Louis, Phoenix et Palmerston Road seront déviés sur la nouvelle route près du marché de Vacoas à la jonction Sivananda Avenue-St Paul Road.
Ceux en provenance de Port-Louis, Phoenix et Palmerston Road qui vont vers De Chiranjiv Bhardwaj Road (Ex-Club Road) et Stevenson Road seront également déviés sur la nouvelle route près de la gare routière de Vacoas à la jonction Sivananda Avenue-Stevenson Road.
In regards to construction works pertaining to the Metro Express Project at Palmerston Metro Station, MEL is informing the road users that there will be some traffic diversion in Vacoas/Phoenix as from Tuesday 16 November 2021 for a period of 4 months:
- Traffic from Sadally, Floreal, La Caverne and Saint Paul proceeding towards Port Louis, Phoenix and Palmerston Road will be diverted onto the new road near Vacoas Market and then on the new Swami Sivananda Avenue at the junction with Stevenson Avenue.
- Traffic from Vacoas on Independence Avenue proceeding towards Port Louis will be diverted through Closel Lane onto Closel Road and Indira Gandhi Road to join the new roundabout on Sayed Hossen Road and continue on the Motorway M1.
- Independence Avenue will be come a two way traffic and road users coming from Jumbo Phoenix proceeding towards Vacoas can now use this avenue.
