Mahindra Launches XUV In Italy; Ssangyong Rexton W Goes To South Africa
The Mahindra XUV500 was unveiled to the European media last month and the Indian UV maker’s first global vehicle is all set to go on sale now.

The XUV500 for Europe is powered by the same 2.2 litre 140 bhp mHawk motor with the 6-Speed manual gearbox.

Only the top spec W8 variant will be available with front and all wheel drive versions.The Euro 5 compliant powertrain emits 173 g/km and 186 g/km of CO2 in the front- and all-wheel drive versions respectively.

The long equipment list include Airbags, ABS, EBD, swiveling projector headlamps, voice command, Bluetooth telephony, multi function touch screen display with navigation, etc.

Mahindra is targeting the growing European middle class in the age group between 25 and 65 years with the XUV500.

The XUV500 has an introductory price of € 22932.00 for FWD and € 24983.00 for AWD. The car is available with five years or one lakh kilometer warranty which is more than what some of the competition offers.

Meanwhile, Mahindra informed the media in another press release that the Ssangyong Rexton W has been launched in South Africa. The Rexton W will extend Ssangyong’s South African portfolio which includes Korando and the Actyon Sport double cab pickup.

The Rexton is powered by a 2.7 litre turbo diesel which generates 162 bhp and is available in both manual and automatic transmission. The latter is sourced from Mercedes-Benz.

This upmarket mid-size SUV will have a 3 year or one lakh KM warranty. It’s to be noted that the SsangYong Rexton will be launched in India on 17th of October.
