Maruti Suzuki sells the Ertiga in a 7-seat version via Arena outlets. Later this year, it will introduce a version with captain seats in the middle row, targeting the Mahindra Marazzo, via the premium NEXA dealers.
For those wondering why the second generation Maruti Ertiga doesn't have LED projector headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, tilt steering, auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control and leather seat upholstery, this is it. The company is saving up features for the upscale version to follow.
The 6-seat premium Maruti MPV may come with only the K15B 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine and the yet-to-be-announced E15A 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 77 kW (104.69 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The diesel engine is made in the tuning of 70 kW (95.17 PS) at 4,000 rpm and 225 Nm at 1,500-2,500 rpm. These figures may slightly vary, though, as the engines will likely have leapt to BSVI then.
