Mercedes-AMG GT R to star in Transformers 5
Bumblebee may be everyone's favorite Autobot in the Transformers movie franchise, but that hasn't stopped director Michael Bay from getting other exotic supercars on the screen.

In a recent tweet, Bay revealed that the Autobot "Drift" would be transforming into a black and red Mercedes-AMG GT R in the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight movie. In the previous film, Drift transformed into a blue Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse.

Transformers: The Last Knight is expected to hit the big screen in June of 2017 with an incredible selection of cars. The AMG GT R will share the screen with the new Bumblebee that is based off the latest iteration of the Chevrolet Camaro and a new "Barricade" that will transform into a heavily-modified 2016 Ford Mustang.

The AMG GT R's 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 puts out 577 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The extra dose of power comes from new turbochargers, reshaped exhaust ports, upgraded software, and a different compression ratio compared with the lesser GT models. Max boost has also been increased to 19.6 psi instead of 17.4. The GT R's massive wing, wider track, and enormous grille will also give Drift an ominous presence on the big screen.
