Nissan Sunny Will Be Called Latio In Hometown Japan
It was shocking when we came across the fact that Nissan’s global sedan which is so successful in US, China, Thailand and India is actually not available in hometown Japan. Well until now that is.

Nissan has finally launched the Nissan Sunny in Japan with a new name – Latio. This is the fourth name that we have heard for the Sunny. The list includes Versa, Almera and our favorite Sunny. Nissan has managed to sell 500,000 units of the Sunny so far worldwide.

Nissan Latio will be powered by a 1.2L, HR12DE that develops 77 hp. The engine is mated to an XTRONIC CVT transmission. Nissan has provided the Latio with an idling stop system to boost fuel economy. As a result, Nissan is claiming an FE of 22.6 kpl according to Japanese test cycle.

It is loaded with equipment such as ESP, six airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, electric. package, trip computer.

Priced at around 1,388,100 yen (around Rs543 000), Nissan is expecting monthly sales of 1,200 units in Japan.
