Road Safety: Four 'Radar' in Service from Wednesday
From Wednesday, four other 'Speed Cameras' will be operational. These cameras are installed at Terre Rouge, near Dool Tyres, at Le Hochet, near church of l’Assemblée de Dieu, at St-Julien Village, near ‘village hall’, and at Camp Garreau near station-service IndianOil.

This is the fourth series of speed cameras to be called into operation after undergoing revision. This brings the total to 16 new speed cameras over twenty, which are currently in operation in the country.

Other cameras, which are part of the 20 'radar' which came into operation in May before being temporarily out of service for inspections will be switched on again shortly. The authorities have decided to proceed step by step. So after a few weeks, all fixed cameras are operational. The engineers of the Traffic Management and Road Safety Unit are trying to check before handing in operation.

To provide better security for road users, the authorities have also six mobile cameras that are already in use across the country.
