South Africa Gets Suzuki Swift Special Edition
Suzuki has launched a special edition of the Suzuki Swift in South Africa with some distinguishing add-ons and features. The Suzuki Swift SE (Special Edition) receives a few design cues from the recently launched Swift Sport.

The hatchback has been clocking an average monthly sales of 135 units in South Africa since its launch in April 2011, which is very marginal compared to its Indian sales. With the launch of Special Edition model, Suzuki aims to popularize the brand in South Africa.

The Suzuki Swift SE comes with a roof spoiler and re-profiled tail lamp elements which are similar to the Swift Sport. Other visual additions that set it apart from the regular models are 16″ alloy wheels and silver door handles. Fog lamps which were missing in the regular SA spec Swifts find a place on the Swift SE.

The silver theme is carried to the interior as well. The new contoured sport seats are covered in silver upholstery and the chunky steering wheel is leather wrapped and gets silver stitching. Further, the Swift SE gets more brownie points owing to the addition of a multimedia system with satellite navigation and USB connectivity.

The car is powered by the 1.4-litre K14B motor which also powers the rest of Swift range in SA. This motor made its Indian debut in the Maruti Ertiga. The power and torque output stand at 94 bhp and 130 Nm respectively.
