South Africa: At Least 30 Killed in Collision Between Train and Truck
At least thirty people were killed Friday in a collision between a train and a truck carrying farm workers in the northeast of South Africa'', said the emergency services.

"We can confirm that more than thirty people died on the spot and many others are still receiving care," said Thulani Sibuyi, head of emergency services in the Mpumalanga province (northeast) to the news channel Continuous e-news.

"It appears the driver of a truck, according to preliminary results of the survey, crossed the tracks without having a good look. Suddenly, the train struck him and dragged him over a mile" , he added. He said the accident took place near Malelane at the entrance to the famous Kruger Park, near the Mozambique border.

"The bodies are lying everywhere, people have been shredded ..." noted the official. The truck was carrying about fifty laborers going to work, according to e-news.
