Suzuki Swift gets 5-star safety rating from JNCAP
The third generation Suzuki Swift has received a 5-star rating in Collision Safety Performance Assessment from JNCAP.

This is the highest safety rating for a car under the Japan New Car Assessment Program. In Preventive Safety Performance Assessment, the car attained the top Advanced Safety Vehicle++ (ASV++) rating.

The JDM-spec Suzuki Swift scored 87.8 points in occupants protection and 78.87 points in pedestrian protection. These points, added with the 4.0 points for Passenger Seat Belt Reminder (PSBR), total to 178.3 points, which put it among the overall 5-star rated cars.

The JDM-spec Suzuki Swift is a lot safer than the Maruti Swift. Both have ABS with EBD and BA as standard. However, while the Indian-spec Swift features two airbags (driver and front passenger) as standard, the JDM-spec Swift features six airbags (driver and front passenger, driver and front passenger side and curtain) as standard. Moreover, the latter includes ESP also across the range. It is available with Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) collision-mitigation system.

In Japan, the Swift is available with some more safety and driver assistance systems than in India, including Hill Hold Control (HHC), around view monitor, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Weaving alert, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), high-beam assist and all-wheel disc brakes.
