Tesla Model S VS Mercedes G63 AMG On The Street
You probably don’t think of either one as a drag car, but maybe you should.

Electric cars are strangely well suited to drag racing. Well, the expensive ones are anyway. A Nissan Leaf might not make much of a drag car, but a Tesla Model S actually has some power, and 100 percent of its torque is available right from 0 rpm. That gives it an advantage off the line against, say a 700-horsepower Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, which makes much of its power thanks to a pair of turbochargers that have to spool up.

Turbo lag might not be what it once was, but the power is still nowhere near as instantaneous as it is in the Tesla, to say nothing of the AMG’s extra weight.
