The Most Relaxing Video You Will Watch Today: Unboxing a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is the epitome of luxury. Mercedes labeled the GLS as a Maybach as an antidote to ultra-luxury SUVs like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and the Bentley Bentayga. Unboxing the Maybach SUV is probably the most relaxing thing you will see today.

Maybach has always been another way of referring to luxury in the automotive world. When Mercedes relaunched the label, back in 2014, it came up with the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

Years later, the German automaker unveiled the Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC at the Guangzhou International Motor Show on November 21, 2019. The GLS 680 4MATIC became an exclusively Chinese market product, as the number 8 is closely associated with luck and wealth in the local culture.

With no connection whatsoever to the Mercedes-Maybach Vision Ultimate Luxury concept, unveiled at the 2018 Shanghai Motor Show, the model is powered by a detuned version of the M177 V8 biturbo engine that operates under the hood of the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+.

It pumps out 550 horsepower (557 metric horsepower) and 538 pound-feet (730 Newton meters) of torque, going to all four corners via a nine-speed auto box and an all-wheel drive system. Those are just enough for a run from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (250 kph).

Unboxing the model is as relaxing as it is exciting. The procedure starts with unzipping the white protective cover that it comes with and revealing the double M logo on the rear pillar.

The one showing up in the video, which seems to have been filmed in a dealership, installs the wheel hubs on all four wheels and plugs the lids of the towing hitches at the front after removing the protective plastic caps that cover the wheels.

The Maybach comes with the three-point star standing up on the hood, which is a first for a Mercedes SUV. The logo needs to be cut out of its protective entrapment.

The luxury cabin is wrapped in plastic. There are covers on the sills that need to be removed first, before taking a seat behind the steering wheel, which is also wrapped in plastic, just like the interior door locks and handles.

The center console and seats, the screen of the MBUX system, and the key fob were also protected during transportation. From the rear executive seats with heating and massage functions, the occupants can enjoy champagne kept in the rear refrigerator (a $1,100 option), poured into champagne flutes.

That is where passengers can enjoy the sound experience provided by the 27-speaker Burmester audio system. Try to find something to complain about in there. Nope, there isn't any reason at all!
