The Rolls-Royce Phantom 'Inspired by Cinque Terre' Is Literally an Art Gallery on Wheels

This bespoke version is a tribute to the Italian Riviera and its traditions. The model brings into the automotive world the vibrant colors of the five cliffside fishing villages from Liguria, in northern Italy: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.

The luxury sedan is painted in a deep, rich Ligurian blue, sporting a hand-applied double coastline in Navy Blue and Jasmine, completed with a grapes motif, which is a nod to the region's winemaking culture. Meanwhile, the cabin of the Rolls-Royce Phantom is dipped in Grace White and Navy Blue with Jasmine accents.

The grape-branch embroidery shows up on the rear doors. Each of them integrates 9,215 stitches made using different techniques. Satin stitching was used for the grapes, with the threads aligned according to the angle at which light strikes the surface. The Bespoke Collective used a flatter tatami stitch for the grape leaf to get the textural contrast effect.

Both picnic tables stored in the trunk of the luxury sedan, with surfaces first painted in Milori blue with a subtle sparkle, also feature the grapes motif made with stainless steel and gold plating.

The Starlight Headliner, a feature that has come to identify with the Rolls-Royce luxury marque, is now going the Italian way: it displays the outline of Italy’s map, with five glowing stars positioned by hand to represent the five Cinque Terre villages. There are 14,338 individual stitches embroidered up there. This part of the customization took more than a month.

Furthermore, images from the five villages with colorful architecture that make up the Cinque Terre are painted on the dashboard, in what Rolls-Royce refers to as “The Gallery.” The composition was first sketched digitally, then airbrushed by hand with water-based acrylic paint, and finished with multiple coats of clear lacquer.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Inspired by Cinque Terre has already been delivered to the one who commissioned it. The company announced that it is set to remain a one-off, which means that it will never be replicated.

There is no customization on the engine of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, though. So it is powered by the company’s mighty 6.75-liter V12, pulling a 2.5-ton car. The eight-speed automatic transmission has to deal with 563 horsepower (571 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm), steered to all four corners, for a run from 0 to 100 kph (0 to 62 mph) in 5.3 seconds and a top speed capped at 155 mph (250 kph).
