Toyota C-HR Compact SUV Rendering
To rival the Nissan Juke and Honda HR-V. Toyota will unveil the production-spec Toyota C-HR compact SUV at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show on March 1.

Carscoops has worked on a rendering of the model, which appears to be a slightly toned-down version of the striking Toyota C-HR concept unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

So far, we know that the Toyota C-HR will be based on Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) that underpins the latest Toyota Prius. Toyota officials claim that it will offer “precise steering and supple suspension”. According to its chief engineer, the Toyota C-HR will focus on distinctive styling instead of practicality, and will not be too toned-down from the concept version.

Although not confirmed, reports believe that the top-end C-HR will pack a 1.8-liter engine paired to an electric motor. Total system output of the hybrid powertrain will be 121 hp, reportedly, which will be put to the ground via a CVT. Other variants reportedly get the smaller 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, sourced from the Japanese-market Toyota Auris, which is capable of 114 hp and 184 Nm of torque.

The production-spec Toyota C-HR would be manufactured in Adapazari, Sakarya, located in northwestern Turkey, given the close proximity to key European and Middle Eastern markets. It will rival the Renault Captur, Nissan Juke and Honda HR-V when it goes on sale this year.
