Ahead of its launch in Japan which is announced to take place by the end of this year, the Toyota C-HR‘s TRD Edition has leaked in what looks like a brochure scan posted by Livedoor Blog.

TRD, or Toyota Racing Department, is the name Toyota uses for its sporty bodykits, which are available globally across its portfolio. For the C-HR, designers have come up with an aggressive TRD styling kit which brings larger bumpers with air vents, a honeycomb grille, and a silver skid plate, larger gloss-black alloy wheels, oversized red mudflaps, a black finisher for the grille and a rear spoiler.

The interior of the C-HR TRD could also sport revisions to the seat upholstery and center console, not to forget the addition of aluminium pedals and illuminated sill plates with the TRD lettering.

The Toyota C-HR measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width and 1,555 mm/1,565 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. It will be available in three variants: 1.2-liter petrol, 2.0-liter petrol and 1.8-liter petrol hybrid. The 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine develops 116 PS and 185 Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is good for 150 PS and 193 Nm of torque.

The Toyota C-HR hybrid makes use of a 1.8-litre petrol engine which produces 98 PS and 142 Nm of torque and combines it with an electric motor which generates 72 PS and 163 Nm of torque. The 1.2-liter petrol will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable transmission with all wheel drive, while the 2.0 petrol will have only a CVT.
