The exterior of the new Etios sports a redesigned front fascia, featuring a new V-shaped grille with black inserts (chrome embellishers for Etios) and a sportier bumper with larger intakes as well as round foglamps with boomerang-shaped chrome accents. At the back, the bumper has been slightly re-profiled. Another notable change is that the Etios Liva loses the chrome garnish on its tailgate, while the Etios features a bolder chrome garnish repositioned to the middle.
Inside, the new Etios gets a revised instrument cluster, featuring a chrome highlight around the large speedometer, and a digital tachometer. Top-end VX models also feature a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio buttons, a dual tone grey and ivory dashboard, new beige fabric seats, power-operated ORVMs, foldable rear bench seat, and a central armrest for the rear seat (Etios sedan only).
The engine lineup will be the 1.5L petrol engine that produces 90 PS/132 Nm of torque and 1.4L D-4D turbodiesel engine with 68 PS/170 Nm. The only transmission option is a 5-speed manual gearbox. The report claims that Toyota has improved the clutch system in diesel variants and front shock absorbers have also been tweaked for better ride quality.
