Tuned Mercedes S-Class Coupe is less elegant, more aggressive
Ruined or is it actually an improvement?

Slammed to the ground and looking downright sinister, the Mercedes S-Class Coupe is no longer the elegant fullsize grand tourer we all know as Prior Design has completely transformed it via a wide body kit made from a fiberglass-Duraflex mix. Gone are the soft lines as instead there are now much wider front and rear fenders along with beefy bumpers featuring add-on spoiler lips giving the high-end coupe an over-the-top sporty appearance that surely won't be to everyone's liking.

With the wide body kit in place, Prior Design says the Mercedes S-Class Coupe "sends a clear signal about who the boss of the boulevard and head of the highway is." We're not so sure about that, though.

No less than 7.8 inches (20 centimeters) wider at the rear axle and 4.7 inches (12 cm) at the front than the regular S-Class Coupe, Prior Design's looks a bit overdone, especially with that fixed wing mounted at the back. It has also received a suspension kit from H&R considerably lowering the ride height, while the three-piece forged 22-inch wheels with 265/30 front and 315/25 rear tires round off the changes to what was once an elegant coupe. Optionally, 23-inch wheels can be ordered to make the S-Class stand out even more.

Also part of the package are the extended side skirts and a two-piece diffuser flanked by the quad tips part of the custom stainless steel exhaust system.

Photos of the car's lavish cabin have not been released, but Prior Design offers numerous customization possibilities to fulfill a customer's wildest desires. These are available not just for the S-Class Coupe, but for other Mercedes models as well. One example we've stumbled upon on the tuner's website is the AMG GT pictured above with an Alcantara plus leather combo with a two-tone look and blue contrast stitching.
