Tuned Range Rover SV Mixes Luxury and Performance Like Few SUVs Can
Can you believe the latest generation Range Rover will turn four in a few months? Land Rover pulled the wraps off its body toward the end of 2021 and put it into production at its Solihull factory in the United Kingdom and at the Pune facility in India.

Looking like an evolution of its predecessor, and for good reasons, as the company didn't want to mess around with a winning recipe, this model remains a great daily with family- and luxury-oriented credentials. It is a common sight in the garages of the world's rich and famous, next to other pricey machines, and it is one sought-after product in certain circles.

Besides looking like it could fit in at the local shopping mall, parked in front of a five-star hotel, and pretty much anywhere else, it can also cope with some challenging situations, with some aftermarket bits and bobs, or at least a set of proper all-terrain tires wrapped around its wheels. Well, assuming it doesn't break down, though that does not usually interest its deep-pocketed owners, who have other rides to enjoy when their Range Rover is in the shop.

This model is facing more competition than ever, as several car manufacturers have also entered this game, and they offer some interesting alternatives to the Range Rover. However, the latter is also a fashion icon, so it's not really in jeopardy. Quite the opposite, in fact, as it will likely live on for a few more years until its successor arrives. And there's no reason to suspect that the Range Rover has no future.

Mind you, we've ventured a bit too far from the topic, which is a modified Range Rover SV. 1016Industries shared a few images of on social media earlier this week, highlighting the obvious: the mods. This machine features fender flares and skirts at the front and rear and mixes white for the lower parts of the body with black for the upper sections. It also has a retuned suspension, a set of fresh wheels that are quite chic, and privacy windows, among others.

There is no reference to the engine, so we can probably assume that it retains the stock firepower. What motor are we talking about? A 4.4L twin-turbo V8 that produces 606 bhp (615 ps/452 kW) at 5,855-7,000 rpm and 553 pound-feet (750 Nm) of torque available between 1,800 and 5,400 rpm. The spec sheet reveals a maximum speed of 162 miles per hour (261 kph) and the ability to zip to 60 mph (97 kph) in just 4.3 seconds, which is not bad at all for a luxury-focused high-rider, is it? This model has an MSRP of $209,000 in the U.S. if you were wondering about that.
