A VW Polo has been customised by Chennai-based Modsters Automotive, with graphics and body work that draws inspiration from the North American F-86 Sabre transonic jet, or Sabrejet.

In India, the regular Polo variants can be had with a 1.2-liter MPi petrol and 1.5-liter TDI diesel engines paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, with the former outputting 75 PS and 110 Nm of torque and the latter with 90 PS and 230 Nm of torque. The GT TSI has a 1.2 turbocharged motor and 7DSG gearbox capable of 105 PS and 175 Nm of peak torque, while the GT TDI has a 1.5 TDI motor and 5-speed manual producing 110 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque.
In other news, IAB learns that the all-new VW Polo Mk6 is not in the current Indian business plans. VW will regularly update the current version with new variants, features and editions to keep it relevant until plans for the successor are firmed up.
