Of course, "luxury" is a very subjective term. Dune buggies tend not to weigh very much, as the very low weight makes big horsepower numbers unnecessary.
But every so often, someone decides to build an insanely powerful one anyway. And here one is, built by Sand Cars Unlimited. The vehicle features a twin-turbo V8 producing 700 horsepower, and it will cost you as much as $340,000 (seriously). Not that there is a lot in the way of options, this is still a pretty minimalist machine.
It seems that the bulk of that money is going toward power, and it certainly shows in the finished product.
