Plates: Still no end date
It's total confusion. Drivers are confused more. When the new plates devil will be mandatory?

While the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Transport had assured the public good have taken things in hand. He insisted that decision was made, several weeks ago, to give time for motorists to comply with the new measure. But how long?

No one knows and no deadline has been advanced for the time being."The measure was announced in Parliament on April 12. There has never been walking behind us. It was clear from the beginning, "said a source close to the minister Anil Bachoo. Moreover a statement issued Wednesday afternoon for ‘mettre les points sur les i’.

Some of our compatriots, however, believe that all plates should be changed by 1 July. Otherwise, police would crack and verbalize. However, the Ministry is adamant it. "The National Transport Authority (NTA) was fully aware of the government's decision. Moreover, its representatives sit in all meetings. We do not understand where does this confusion,"said the official.

To date, only new vehicles must be fitted with new plates. They should be white on the front and yellow at the rear. For other drivers, the authorities will give them "all the time it takes" to meet the new standards. On Wednesday evening, however, no deadline had been set "We are very pleasantly surprised by the reaction of motorists. Many of them have already changed their plates. The new standards that were not also changed. It's a good sign, "said the source close to the minister.

Initially, the new plates to come into effect on 1 August 2010. But in the absence of information campaign, the measure had fallen into deaf ears. The total absence of 'response' from the public has no choice left to the NTA as to postpone the entry into force of this measure to February 1, 2011. Again, cabbage ... and the deadline have been declining.
