Renault Kwid Photographed Nearly Undisguised In Brazil
The Fiat Mobi fighter will be launched in the South American country in September, and the car’s components will be shipped from India.

Will feature a flex-fuel version of the 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder engine.

Following its first appearance in January, the Renault Kwid was spotted again on test in Brazil last month. Ahead of its expected launch in September, the car has been spotted again in the South American country, nearly undisguised. The spy shots, courtesy Carsale Brazil, reveal that the South American-spec Kwid is only mildly different from the Indian-spec Kwid.

The test mule reaffirms that the Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid has differently styled door mouldings. The Latin American version’s leaked patent images also suggested a few other differences like body-coloured rear bumper and door handles and chrome fog lamp enclosures. The door mirrors will be larger, similar to the Renault Sandero’s, while the Brazilian publication also says that the interior materials will be better compared to the Indian-spec Renault Kwid.

In Brazil, the Renault Kwid will be powered by a 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder engine that will run on both petrol and ethanol. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission in the base trim level, but moving up the range, there may be an option for the Easy-R automated manual transmission. Renault debuted the 1.0-litre SCe engine and Easy-R AMT models at Auto Expo 2016.

It is reported that Kwid SKDs (semi-knocked down kits) from India will be assembled at the the Resende Industrial Complex near Rio de Janeiro for the Brazilian market.
