Headlightmag forum member Nike has posted images of the all-new Suzuki Ertiga snapped during its promo shoot in the country.
The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga, dare we say classier, and larger than its predecessor and is underpinned by the all-new Heartect platform. The new generation is 4,395 mm long, 1,735 mm wide and 1,690 mm high. It has a 2,740 wheelbase and a 180 mm ground clearance. It offers 153 litres of luggage space behind the three rows of seats, expandable to 550 litres on folding the third-row seatback folded and further to a maximum 803 litres.
At the heart of the all-new Suzuki Ertiga, is the newly-developed K15B 1.5-litre VVT petrol engine that produces 104.7 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. It is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Projector headlamps, LED rear combination lamps, KESSY, 6.8-inch touchscreen entertainment system, ventilated cupholders, wood trim and dual-tone upholstery are some of the talking points of the 7-seat MPV.
In terms of safety, Suzuki equips the Mitsubishi Xpander rival with reverse parking sensors, dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and ESP. Thailand will source the all-new Suzuki Ertiga from the Cikarang Plant (Indonesia). Exports are said to commence in September.
The all-new Maruti Ertiga is tipped to reach showrooms close to Diwali (November). The redesigned model will likely come at a premium over the outgoing model and Maruti Suzuki will sell it exclusively through NEXA outlets.
