Thus, a section of that road is closed to traffic in both directions from its junction with Impasse Pillay up to Dr Jeetoo Avenue from December 5, and for a period of eight weeks.
According to officials of the ministry of Public Infrastructure, National Development Unit, Land Transport and Shipping, “The works are being carried out in two phases and the traffic diversion schemes have been changed accordingly.”
According to information rececived the excavation works are going to be as follows –
Phase 1: Impasse Pillay up to Parahoo Lane (3 weeks), public buses and heavy vehicles along Boundary Road heading towards Berthaud Avenue will be diverted along Robert Edward Hart Lane, Robert Edward Hart Avenue, Dawtal Lane and back on Boundary Road to the normal route.
Phase 2: Canda Lane up to Dr Jeetoo Ave (5 weeks), public buses and heavy goods vehicles along Boundary Road heading towards Berthaud Avenue will be diverted along Farquhar Avenue, Remy Ollier Avenue, Rev Lebrun Avenue, Robert Edward Hart Avenue, Nelson Mandela Lane and back on Boundary Road to the normal route.
Traffic signs will be placed at appropriate locations to inform of the diversion scheme and police assistance will be provided.
