Facebook page Modz and Exotics has posted images of a custom Maruti Swift from Chennai, featuring a sportier body kit and gold rims.
It has an extended front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper for a more meaner stance on the road, a custom grille with black honeycomb mesh and gloss black elements, LED taillamps and a roof spoiler. What will catch attention, however, are the 16-inch multi-spoke gold alloy rims shod with low profile tires, which does look kind of cool against the white exterior. Thankfully, changes are not as comprehensive or eye-gouging as some of the Swift's we have come across, looking tasteful.
The current generation Swift is now one of the oldest cars in Maruti's portfolio. It can be had with a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine developing 84.3 PS and 115 Nm of torque or a 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine delivering 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines come equipped only with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. It can average an ARAI-certified fuel mileage of 20.4 km/L (petrol) and 25.2 km/L (diesel).
Following the 3rd gen Dzire last month, Maruti will introduce its hatchback counterpart, the 2018 Maruti Swift, early next year, according to reports. An unveiling at Auto Expo 2018 next February is expected, but not officially confirmed.
