Elements of the Field Intelligence Office (FIO) have managed a big blow on Saturday with the dismantling of a gang, suspected of involvement in the trafficking of stolen cars.

As part of this investigation, detectives have seized the collar of a Moroccan, Lifiati Mehdi, aged 24, and its local accomplices, Nasurruddin Dilanee, 27 and Georgie Badoodhinkhan, 30 years.

These transactions might have gone unnoticed without a traffic stop Saturday morning, during which officers of the Central Division have arrested Lifiati Mehdi who was driving a car. After an observation, the police realized that his plate was false. The young man was flown to the headquarters of Vacoas and after verification, the police learned he was wanted by their colleagues from Grand-Bay for a robbery case. Subjected to close questioning, the suspect confessed to stealing several cars with the help of his two accomplices he swung identity. 

He said the band was flying these machines, then they modified the chassis numbers of vehicles and those to try to sell to individuals. 

The same day, police mounted two operations, one in Goodlands and one in St. Croix, which led to the arrest of Nasurruddin Dilanee Badoodhinkhan and Georgia. In addition, detectives seized four cars in the courtyard of the last named. According to our information, the investigators expect other arrests in the wake of this case.
