Two of the most capable American supercars on the road right now, the Z06 puts down 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque from its 6.2-liter supercharged V8, while the Viper TA delivers 640 hp and 600 lb-ft courtesy of the 8.4-liter V10 lurking under its long hood. On paper then, there’s not much separating these cars.
Over the course of a day, the drivers made seven clean passes and the Viper won every single one. Apparently, once it reached 4th gear, there was no catching the snake. So is this a case of better car, or another incident of driver inadequacy?
