Indian-spec Nissan Kicks officially unveiled, will be launched in January 2019
Nissan has unveiled the Indian-spec Kicks, its first new volume product since the Terrano in 2013. It will launch the new SUV in January 2019.

The Indian spec-Nissan Kicks is based on Dacia's B0/Logan platform that underpins even the traditionally designed Nissan Terrano. In comparison, the global-spec version is based on the V platform, which debuted in the Nissan Micra in 2010. The Indian-spec version is bigger in dimensions and is better suited to the local road conditions.

The Indian Kicks measures 4,384 mm in length, 1,813 mm in width and 1,656 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2673 mm. For reference, the global model measures 4,295 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and 1,590 mm in height. Its wheelbase spans a length of 2,610 mm.

The Nissan Kicks features a crossover design philosophy with angular lines, many cuts and creases and a sloping roofline. The premium B-SUV will be available in dual-tone paint schemes with colour-coded interiors. It sports 17-inch machined alloy wheels wrapped in 215/60 R17 tyres. The interiors haven't been revealed yet but they should mostly be similar to the global version.

The Indian-spec Nissan Kicks is expected to be available with the 1.5-litre H4K petrol engine (106 PS/142 Nm) and the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine (110 PS/245 Nm). The petrol engine could be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT. The diesel engine could be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed AMT. An AWD option isn't available globally, and we don't expect that here either.

The Nissan Kicks will rival the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, Tata Harrier and the production version of the Kia SP Concept.
