Indian-spec Nissan Kicks teased, is bigger than the global version
Nissan Motor India has started the Kicks’ promotional campaigns beginning with teasers today.

The company has released sketches of the SUV and revealed some information about its design.

Aligning with IAB's exclusive report last month, Nissan says that the Indian-spec Kicks is bigger and is more evolved. Below are the global version's dimensions for reference.

The teasers hint at headlamps with a blue accent and a raised eyebrow-like outer-end for more aggression, front bumpers with large pockets and sleeker tail lamps. The V-motion grille is of course the company's signature motif, while the "kick" in the rear door quarter-light is an interesting detail on the sides.

Originally, Nissan built the Kicks on the basis of the V platform. For India, it will leverage the dual-spec platform strategy. The Terrano's B0/Logan platform that has Dacia origins will underpin the Indian-spec version. The company could offer it with the 1.5-litre H4K petrol engine married to a 5-speed MT or a CVT and the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. An AWD system isn't available internationally, and we don't expect it here either.

Talking points on the Kicks should include LED headlamps with integrated LED signature accents, 17-inch wheels, full-colour 7-inch driver information display, floating 7-inch touchscreen display, D-shaped steering wheel, Zero Gravity front seats and seven airbags.

The Nissan Kicks will compete with the Hyundai Creta and Maruti S-Cross, as well as sister brand Renault's Captur. Prices could start at around INR 10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Recent reports have said that the launch will take place in January 2019.
