The KTM 1290 Super Duke GT features an eight-way adjustable wind blast protector, LED headlamps and bigger tank extensions. The bike also gets slipper clutch and a Motor Slip Regulation system which keeps a track of the drag torque of the engine and briefly opens the throttle to match engine speed with wheel speed. This helps in preventing the tyre from drifting while entering a corner.
Other features standard in the sports tourer include a traction control, three riding modes (sport, street and rain), electronic cruise control, Bosch stability control, switchable combined ABS and a quick shifter. Riders can also opt for Hill Hold Control and a tire pressure monitoring system. The laser cut chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame weighs just 9.8 kg. The kerb weight of the bike is 228 kg.
The 1290 Super Duke GT is suspended on 48 mm upside down semi-active setup by WP in the front and a semi active mono shock in the rear by the same brand. The bike has a ground clearance of 140mm, seat height of 835 mm and a fuel tank which can store 23 litre of petrol. The front wheel gets two radially mounted Brembo M50 four-piston Monobloc callipers over dual floating 320 mm discs while the rear wheel gets a 240 mm disc with two-piston callipers by Brembo. The bike is fitted with Pirelli Angel GT tyres.
Mated to a 6-speed transmission, the 1290 Super Duke GT is powered by a 75 degree V-twin 1,301 cc mill producing 173 PS of maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque.
