New 2024 MINI 5-Door Launched in Cooper C and Cooper S Specifications
The new generation MINI 5-Door is gearing up for launch in several markets worldwide, including Australia, where the automaker has just released its pricing specifications.

MINI offers the new five-door hatch in the Cooper C and Cooper S configurations, and each one comes in three trim levels. These are called the Core, Classic, and Favored on the Cooper C, and Classic, Favored, and JCW (John Cooper Works) Sport on the Cooper S.

But what sets the Cooper C and Cooper S apart? Well, the engine, obviously. The former uses a 1.5L three-banger rated at 115 kilowatts (156 ps/154 hp) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of thrust, paired with a 7-speed DCT, and is capable of reaching 100 kph (62 mph) in 8.0 seconds. The latter brings a 2.0L four-pot to the party with 150 kW (204 ps/201 hp) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) and is 1.2s faster to 100 kph than the entry-level.

Pricing starts at AU$43,990 (equal to US$29,317) for the Cooper C Core, which features sports seats, a sports steering wheel, wireless smartphone integration, six-speaker audio, a parking assistant, reversing camera, cruise control, etc. The Classic starts at AU$46,990 (US$31,316) and adds a panoramic glass roof, heated front seats, augmented reality navigation, interior camera, adaptive cruise control, parking assistant plus with surround view, steering and lane control assist, and others.

Should you want the 2024 Cooper C 5-door in its range-topping configuration, called the Favored, then you will have to cough out at least AU$49,990 (US$33,315). This model brings all of the above and then some, with the extras comprising the special interior styling and trim, an anthracite headliner, sun protection glazing, electric front seats with memory, active seat functions for the driver, JCW seats, and a superior sound system with 12 speakers from Harman/Kardon.

For the 2024 Cooper S Classic, MINI is asking for at least AU$51,990 (US$34,648) in Australia. This model has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, a sports steering wheel, a panoramic glass roof, front sports seats with heating, an augmented reality navigation system, an interior camera, and numerous safety gizmos.

The mid-spec Favored starts at AU$54,990 (US$36,648) and brings JCW seats, a Harman/Kardon audio system, an anthracite headliner, and so on, just like the Cooper C variant. The JCW Sport ups the offering with the typical John Cooper Works styling inside and out, an adaptive suspension, JCW brakes, and several other features that set it apart from the lesser grades in return for AU$56,990 (US$37,980).

MINI's 2024 Cooper C and Cooper S 5-Door have a luggage capacity of 275 liters (9.7 cubic feet), expandable to 925 liters (32.7 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded down. They're offered with a 5-year warranty and will arrive Down Under in the fourth quarter of the year.
