New Rain Cause Flooding in The North, Roads Closed
Firefighters were Sunday afternoon many calls for help in the north. Houses were flooded again and just four days after the flood that paralyzed much of the country.

Heavy rains flooded several residential areas on Sunday 17 December, in the north, and caused traffic jams in the regions Amitié, Plaine-des-Roches et l’Amaury. Many paths are muddy and slippery again tonight. The roads are also dotted with stones carried by the water currents.  

Pathes Amitié and Gokoolah are closed to traffic for 16h and 20h were still. "Rain has subsided, but some roads are muddy and flooded," noted the inspector Ashok at 19:45 Mattur of the Traffic Branch   

Firefighters, meanwhile, are still inundated with requests. Calls using rained again in the early evening on the 115. Firefighters received calls from Rivière-du-Rempart, L’Amitié, Belle-Vue Maurel et l`Amaury. The fire stations in the north are short and reinforcement had to call firefighters to Coromandel.

For 16h, the north has experienced strong rainstorms, with consequent accumulation of water in many residential areas.

The weather provided in its newsletter this morning at 11:15, the rain and not new showers in the afternoon. The situation changed in the afternoon. The north was drunken and heavy rain are expected in the night to the north, east and central plateau.
