Two hundred families were rehoused in public housing in Valletta last three years. They say they live in difficult conditions regarding transit.
The National Empowerment Foundation (NEF) is activated to find a solution to this problem. Ramlo Appadoo was on the antenna or Xplik K last week. He regretted that the operators of transit or United Bus Service, the National Transport Company and individual traders refuse to enter the village to take passengers. As a result, users are forced to walk for nearly 1.3 km to reach the main road to catch the bus. Residents of the area have sent a letter to the NEF has invited the National Transport Authority (NTA) to take the necessary measures.
Asked Cyril Appajala, Transport Controller to NTA, said to be aware of this problem. "We have scheduled a meeting between representatives of the NTA and transit operators to find a solution," he said. Meanwhile, residents of La Valette must take their troubles patiently.
