Phoenix-Beaux Songes Link Road will be opened at Thursday
Construction on the Phoenix-Beaux Songes Link Road is finally complete. Work on the 6.8 kilometre road started in January 2010 and was undertaken by Colas Company at a cost of Rs 280 million.

It is already operational but will be officially inaugurated on October 20, by Prime Minister, Navin Ramgoolam.

According to an official from the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, National Development Unit, Land Transport and Shipping, there is heavy influx of traffic going to Palma and Flic en Flac and other western regions.

However, there is only one road giving access to these parts of the island. The main objective with the Phoenix-Beaux Songes project is to decongest traffic in this region, save time and also minimize accidents.

In a communiqué issued by the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, National Development Unit, Land Transport and Shipping, the public is informed that with the opening of the newly constructed Phoenix-Beau Songes Link Road, a new traffic scheme will be in force from October 18.

Traffic along Sayed Hossen Road and proceeding towards Candos – Vacoas Road (B3) will pass through Unjore Lane, which will be converted into one-way traffic, in the direction of Candos – Vacoas Road. Traffic along Candos – Vacoas (B3) proceeding towards Phoenix will pass through Sonia Lane, which will be converted into one-way traffic, in the direction of Phoenix. Police officials will be present to guide road users.

Also, due to major work in connection with the construction of a new bridge along the Pailles Branch Road (B77), the road will be closed to traffic on October 24 and 25, as well as October 27 and 28, between 7 pm and 6 am (next day).

Traffic from Motorway M1 in Pailles, proceeding towards GRNW, will be diverted to St Louis Road, Plaine Lauzun Industrial Zone, Cite Vallijee and GRNW, while traffic on Port Louis St Jean Road (A1) in GRNW Region, proceeding towards Pailles, will be diverted through Port Louis St Jean Road (A1) Old Moka Road.
